Today In History: First Model T Assembled

October 1rst: Today in 1908 the first Model T Ford rolled off the assembly line. The car was the first modern mass produced market car to hit the big time, selling continuously until from 1908 to 1927. Famously available in ‘any color you like, as long as it is black’ it was actually available in other colors for many years of its manufacture but Ford did everything it could to standardize the car making process.

We are interested in learning more about history blogs and in finding ways to promote them. To aid in this effort, we are circulating a small questionnaire and will make the results available in Tapera (in Spanish) and in Digital History Hacks (in English). If you wish to participate, please return the questionnaire to tapera@tapera.info
    Thank you very much.

My Mom learned to drive in an old Model T, which, come to think of it, may explain some of her later driving choices.
