Satellite of DOOOOOOM!
Went to the Air and Space expansion yesterday. Dad pointed out this satellite looks like something from a James Bond film. I think he nailed it.

I believe that it’s part of the “hit a bullet with a bullet” SDI program and is intended to hit reentering ICBM warheads. I’ll put my pedant hat back on and say that since this is a a piece of hardware design that wasn’t ever intended to acheive orbit, it probably can’t be called a satellite.

Ha! I can call it a satellite! I did it already! I can call my dog a satellite if I want to! Ha!
I have no idea if it is a satellite or not, it is hanging from the roof above the aisle next to the space shuttle if anyone wants to go and look. All I can say is, it looks like supervillain satellite whether it is or not!
