A great post that has been honored in the 2007 Best American Sportswriting Annual details one of the tragedies of Major League Baseball’s sad historic ban on Non-Human players: Bugs Bunny, greatest banned player ever.

    Well, you can’t really blame them. When tested, Bugs was positive for all sorts of altered proteins and hormones.

    Bugs never knowingly ingested any illegal substances. Those photos of him and Barry Bonds prove nothing.

    Sorry Brett… Bugs has been filmed consuming “super-vitamized, locked-in flavorized, atomized, modern desi-o-nized super carrots.” While the vitamins and flavor may not be out-of-bounds, atomized? modern desi-o-nized? He knew.
