I’m going out on a limb here to say I admire the mayor. First for renaming the dog. I mean ‘Puddles’? Isn’t that animal cruelty? Secondly, unlike Detroit’s mayor, she’s taking responsibility and resigning with some semblance of dignity. She’s found the best friend that no politician should be without. If the hearing goes against her, she can head to the nearest pound and volunteer, thus making up for her odd crimes of passion.

“I mean ‘Puddles’? Isn’t that animal cruelty?”
Either that or the unwise naming of a pet for a behavior you don’t actually want it to do.
