In Australia It Is Already Their Summer Of Fear!
The Aussies give us the second big contender for Summer of Fear 2008. This previous champion serves to show that some people’s theories:

Okay. I will admit that Sharks can make for a pretty fearful summer. Especially, as Jimmy Buffet says, the sharks that can swim on the land.

I was thinking that the ideal Summer Of Fear critter for “some people” would be the spider cricket (or camel back cricket, depending on who you ask) because they do tend to hide in large groups under things and spring up at anyone who disturbs their hiding place. Unfortunately, they are totally harmless.
