Last year’s winner, the squirrel, isn’t slacking in 2008. They are now engaged in a crazed attempt to redeem their public image in an effort to make them seem harmless. Only the nightmarish horror of squirrel tributes to Benazir Bhutto and other images from beyond mortal ken make it plain that that this is no harmless squirrel publicity page, it is a direct attack on America’s sanity. ‘you’ve been squirreled‘ indeed.
