Self Service
This article says self service has gone too far. I am not so sure, what it really seems to be saying when you read the compliants is that some businesses are mistaking convenience for themselves for convenience for the customer, and thus losing customers. I don’t miss going into the bank at all, I used to hate being treated like a slug for giving them my money. I like when I am in the US not having to go inside to pay at the gas station. That said many web based systems are just a pain to use. I spend much more going into a real bookstore than I spend when I hit Amazon normally, but Amazon pretty much always has what I am after if I want something specific. I don’t think full service is ever going to go away, but I do expect the public to keep letting the the companies know when they get it wrong.
