May 24th: Today in 1487 Lambert Simnel was crowned the King of England. In a story that sounds like a romance novel young Lambert was picked off the streets and trained to impersonate royalty in a bid to take the throne from Henry VII. Later pardoned as a pawn in the plot Lambert eventually became the king’s falconer.
