Today In History: United States Constitutional Convention Begins
May 25th: Today in 1787 the United States Constitutional Covention achieved a quorum and began official deliberations. It was a long difficult process to draft the Constitution and the final version would not be available until September 17th. Not everyone was happy with the result and 39 of the delegates refused to sign it, however history has shown it to be a remarkable effective document. The Bill of Rights would follow two years later giving us the Constitution we know today.
