July 25th: Today in 1909 Louis Blériot became the first man to fly across the English Channel in a heavier than air craft. Everytime I get on a jumbo jet to fly somewhere I think about the days when flying was a seat of the pants adventure, rather than the modern bus ride crammed into cattle class….
