Today In History: B-25 crashes into Empire State Building

July 28th: Today in 1945 14 people were killed when a B-25 bomber crashed into the Empire State Building. The accident occured on a weekend so few people were in the building and the Empire State Building is put together out of limestone and brick with concrete and steel floors so the building was back in full operation a few weeks later.

    And I’ve actually seen the ding on the building from where the plane hit. I’ve also read about a woman who was in the elevator at the time and survived a several dozen story drop with only a broken ankle.
