Egils Grave Found! Yes, that Egil!
Iceland Reveiw is reporting that Egil’s grave may have been found. Yes, Egil from Egil’s Saga. This is really neat, imagine finding one of the most famous vikings ever, what a great find!

With the body (bones) having been moved, I wonder what artifacts are left that indicate a grave. On an unrelated note, I saw the “Vikings-clash” picture in your gallery yesterday when I looked at “Monk and Nun”. What sort of arrow does that archer have nocked and pointed at those two in melee? Looks like a pretty small point. I guess I’m turning into a grandma in my old age but “put somebody’s eye out” comes to mind.

The archers there use rabbit blunts on the tips of their arrows. Looks much better than the big padded tips used in Markland, but I agree they have a much higher potential for an accident. That said, they fired a ton of arrrows at each other with no problems at all at the battle reenactment.
