Until Man Came
Whenever I watch a nature show I wait for the part of the show where the announcer says something along the lines of “and so the ocelot lived in perfect harmony with nature, until man arrived….” This line or a variation of it is in damn near every nature show you will ever see and it drives me crazy. We are part of nature, just like the majestic ocelot and the cunning slug, we are not an aberration, we are part of the game. Anyway, the London Zoo is doing a human exhibit this weekend. Cute, been done but points for trying something. What caught my eye was this quote
“We have set up this exhibit to highlight the spread of man as a plague species and to communicate the importance of man’s place in the planet’s ecosystem,” London Zoo said.
Sheesh. Hey buddy why don’t you just go and hang yourself. You might be a plague species, what ever that is, but I am part of the plan. I belong here, sorry you have no esteem, but that really is your problem, not ours.
