October 26th: Today in 1881 the Earps and Clantons faced each other down in the most classic and misrepresented events of American frontier history, the Gun Fight at the OK Corral. This event reinforced the frontier image that has become a cliche, of gunfighters facing each other down a long dusty street, but it was closer to a D.C. drive by in reality.
