Today In History: Death of Blackbeard

November 22nd: Today in 1718 the long arm of the law finally catches up with the dread pirate Blackbeard (Edward Teach). He was your classic pirate, a murderous psychopath of the first order and when they caught up to him they made really, really sure he was dead by shooting him five times and stabbing him another twenty before cutting off his head.

    Fortunately, the ever popular “Talk Like A Pirate Day” has not been followed in popularity by “Die Like A Pirate Day.”
