Today In History: Entering King Tut’s Tomb

November 26th: Today in 1922 Howard Carter enters King Tutankhamun‘s tomb along with Lord Carnarvon his patron. Rumors of a curse haunted the dig as eventually, all those on the dig died. This goes along with the Mark Twain’s fith birthday party curse, as eventually all those who attended this party died as well.

Curses are like that. I believe the distinction between the Mark Twain curse and the Tutankhamun curse would be in the manner of death. Curses are bunk, in my opinion, but if they help discourage folks from tearing up graves, more power to ‘em.

The manner of deaths was identical in both cases. You have an interesting point on grave robbing, but without it, we would know virtually nothing of the past at all as we are careless with our history as a species.
