Today In History: Mary Campbell Kidnaped

March 21rst: Today in 1758 ten year old Mary Campbell was kidnapped by Lenape Indians. She spent the next six years in Ohio until repatriated by General Boquet at a camp at Muskingum in 1764 when she was 16. Famous at the time as a model of bravery she is now mostly forgotten by history except by buckskin reenactors, many of whom base their personas on Mary Campbell’s experience.
