Copyrights and Patents Bring Down The American Era
I really think we are starting to strangle on copyrights and patents in America. The nonsense of it all is becoming enormous, you cannot publish important historical works, inventors cannot bring products to the market without battalions of lawyers around them and a whole industry is arising just to sue people who actually make things. Are American’s becoming dumber or lazier? No, but they are placing handcuffs on themselves that only serve to benefit a tiny portion of the population. I found this article at Mother Jones today and it shows some of the more blatant examples but you know these are just the tip of the iceberg. A hundred years from now people will be talking about what ended the ‘American Era’ and instead of lead pipes people will just say, copyrights and patents nonsense. Innovators and artists deserve patent and copyright protection, leeches do not.
