Today In History: Treaty of Utrecht cedes Gibraltar to Britian in 1713

The Treaty of Utrecht was signed today ceding Gibraltar to Britain in 1713. The Spanish have been demanding Gibraltar back since the 1950s. Given the Spanish claims the British seem suprisingly accepting of US claims to the ownership of the Atlantic coast of most of North America that Britain gave away in a treaty nearly seventy years after the Treaty of Utrecht. Perhaps if the Spanish can take Gibraltar back, Britain can reclaim its former land as well.
