Just Like Us, Only Richer And More Privileged

I am so glad to know that Congress is just like us and thus completely immune from the due process of law. They have long been immune from arrest during session, now we find out they think you can’t even investigate them, even when the stink of corruption is nearly overwhelming. Congress is just like us little people, only richer and more privileged. All Animals Are Equal But Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others.

Well, I know it looks ugly, but, as the article sort of explains, it’s a checks-and-balances thing. You don’t want any branch of the government to have too much power over the other two. I know I’m not telling you anything that you don’t already know… if this were to go through unchallenged, it could set a precedent that could be used later for less nobel purposes. They (the executive branch) need to do it right. Then, I hope they nail him to the wall. But, basically, yea, the animals in the government are different from we little people and you really wouldn’t want it any other way.

They had a warrant from the judicial branch, it wasn’t just the executive running wild. They used agents not on the case to look explicitly for the items that had been subpoenaed and nothing else. The subpoena (again from the Judicial branch) had been ignored, if they can’t search even with a warrant for subpoenaed papers what can they do? Do you think they would be as careful dealing with our refusal to supply subpoenaed items?

I know the animals are different up there, but I will be damned if I think they should be untouchable. There are stories now going around that Hastert is outraged because he is under investigation as well, this isn’t a Republican/Democrat thing. You can be rich and privileged in America as long as you aren’t too obvious when you rub it into the common folks faces, this is just rubbing it in way more than I like it.
