June 12th: Today in 1939 the Baseball Hall of Fame opened in Cooperstown, NY. It was not the first Hall of Fame, but it was the most famous and influential for quite a while. Now there is a Hall of Fame for anything, even things which have no fame about them at all. My favorite is the Military Intelligence Hall Of Fame, where arguably if you are famous you shouldn’t belong.
