June 24th: Today in 1821 Simon Bolivar led his army to victory over Spanish Royalist forces at the Battle of Carabobo. This battle led to the independence of Venezuela and was a step in forming Bolivar’s planned Gran Columbia nation. All good stuff but I just like saying Carabobo…..
