Today In History: Robespierre Guillotined

July 28th: Today in 1794 Maximilien Robespierre is guillotined in front of the Paris crowds for his role in the mass executions of the French Revolution. He remains a controversial figure as many debate if he was a monster or not, but there can be little doubt about his role in radicalizing the revolution. Live by the guillotine, die by the guillotine seems to fit here pretty neatly.
