Pardon Me
The problem with history is people keep trying to fix it. The more you try to fix history, the more muddled it gets as a couple of stories from the UK show. Recently a family succeeded in getting a soldier who was shot for cowardice in World War One pardoned. This led to the other families demanding the same, which of course had to be granted. Now a Scottish MP is demanding pardons for some soldiers who mutinied in World War Two. I suspect the only answer for the British Army is to issue a general pardon for anyone ever convicted of anything, it will just be quicker. Otherwise expect demands for pardons for the Indian Mutiny, the Jacobites, the Regicides, etc, etc. The correct answer should be to let the past lie, but that isn’t possible anymore as they will just sue, so I would just issue a blanket pardon and be done with it.

Now that they have decided to go back and make history better, anything is possible. Hell, no one has apologized to the celts yet for the saxon invasions or some of the questionable legal calls after the Norman invasion.
