I highly recommend a visit. It's ver nace!

I would still like to visit Herculaneum and the museum in Naples (which apparently has all the cool loose stuff they took out of Pompeii).

Pompeii was amazingly larger than I expected. I was thinking Williamsburg — it's bigger. And this was a small seaside resort! It really gave me a sense of Rome falling.
