Hunting with Atlatls in Pennslyvania?

Sunday, November 13th, 2005

Apparently there is a movement to allow hunting with Atlatls in Pennslyvania. Who knew PA was a hot bed of stone age activity even today? I am waiting for them to legalize driving herds of animals over cliffs myself. That is the only really sporting way to hunt.

Thank the Lord for the Internet

Sunday, November 13th, 2005

I know I was staying awake at night wondering what it would look like if Dr. Suess had written Star Trek: The Next Generation, and I suspect you were being kept awake as well. Well now, thanks the the wonderful internet, you need wonder no longer! What did we do before Al Gore invented this [...]

Today In History: St. Brices Day Massacre

Sunday, November 13th, 2005

November 13th: Today in 1002 King Ethelred issued a proclaimation calling for the killing of all Danes in England, which led to several large scale massacres. Naturally the Danes were less than pleased with this and responded the next year with a large invasion and horrible vengence taken on many towns where the massacres had [...]

Today In History: Stalin Takes Charge

Saturday, November 12th, 2005

November 12th: Today in 1927 Stalin becomes the sole leader of Soviet Russia with the expulsion of Leon Trotsky from the Communist party. Today In History: Mayflower Compact Signed

Friday, November 11th, 2005

November 11th: Today in 1620 the Mayflower Compact was signed, establishing the government the Plymouth Colony would live under. They sure have some good lobster up in that part of the world, but remarkably they are silent about lobster in the compact. The sneaks.

Today In History: Dr. Livingston I presume?

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

November 10th: Today in 1871 Explorer Henry Morton Stanley found the ‘lost’ explorer Dr. David Livingston near Lake Tanganyika. Stanley was a publicity seeking newsman turned explorer who became a model of brutality as shot his way thru many more expeditions before becoming a land developer for the savage Belgian company exploiting the Congo. [...]

Wednesday, November 9th, 2005

So you buy a CD and bring it home, what can you do with it? What are your responsibilities with your new property, well Sony, god bless their little hearts, have made it absolutely clear what you can and cannot do in their EULA for those neat copy protected ‘CD’s that install that nasty root [...]
