Orioles

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Ok, the Orioles are now 0-9 since announcing their new manager. Could we move him back to being an interim manager please?
Edit: So they finally win one! All it took was the manager being ejected from the game! Not that I am saying there is some kind of sign here or anything.

Dark Side Reenacting

Monday, August 27th, 2007

I used to be an active reenactor and may be again someday but I have always struggled with understanding those who are drawn to the dark side of reenacting. These are the people who actively seek out the ‘bad guys’ in a historical period to portray. I put ‘bad guys’ in quotes because you can [...]

Congratulations To Dave Trembley

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Congratulations to Dave Trembley on his confirmation as Orioles manager for 2008. The Orioles celebrated by losing the most lopsided game in American League history to the Texas Rangers. 30 to 3. They almost shouldn’t have bothered really, they only ate four people, the Vikings in Ireland killed thousands a thousand years ago. Oh wait, the Danes say they are sorry for that too. Whew, now we [...]

Apparently according to Nick Bostrom of Oxford University there is a 20% chance we are living in a computer simulation*, rather than in the real world. This has renewed my hopes that someday I will find the powerup that gives unlimited health and a chaingun.
Follow Up: Here is Bostrom’s website on the topic.

Squirrels have a secret weapon, their hot tails. There, now anyone googling Hot Squirrel Tails can find this site.

We Have Lost Another Hero

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

Irene Morgan Kirkaldy, rest in peace. I am always humbled by the stories of bravery in the face of tyranny like these. As our rights constrict around us in the United States it does us all well to consider what others have done.

Another DRM Sucess Story!

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Google Video is demonstrating once more why DRM is such a wonderful idea. Did you ‘buy’ a video from Google recently? If so I hope you weren’t too attached to ‘your’ video. Sucker.
