This video of wacky college kids playing Quidditch looks just like my son’s tenth birthday party. Although the ten year olds were smart enough to lose the brooms. The kids used bean bags as blodgers and an untied balloon released at random during the game as a snitch. If a seeker caught the balloon before [...]

I am passionate about public domain. It is going away. It is being eroded by our bought out Congress who are constantly giving away extensions of copyright and trademark terms without getting anything for the public back in return. DRM victories march on after Google sunk it its movie customers in August and at the same time warned us all of the joys of Digital Rights Management the fine folks at Major League Baseball decided they want to get into the act so they just turned off the servers that let you watch the [...]

So Guy Fawke’s hometown has banned the celebration this year because it is just too scary. I back this decision, I can recall the hordes who have died year after year at bonfires all around England. I believe the York Council is correct and everyone should celebrate Guy Fawkes day today by wrapping themselves up [...]

A good article about a reenactment of the charge of the Australian Light Horse Regiment in World War One. Often called the last cavalry charge, it wasn’t, but it was still a heck of feat in an age of warfare dominated by quick firing rifles and machine guns. Good movie too.
Today’s Buttersafe is brilliant and [...]
