I am actually not nearly as big a fan of The Oatmeal as many of my friends, but I do think his demonstration of net neutrality is pretty accurate. In a market where there is no real competition we have to keep the ISPs under control. This is not a right/left issue, it is common sense.
This web comic translation of the poem Ithaka by Constantine Cavafy is brilliant. Zen Pencils is drawn by Gavin Aung and he has done quite a few challenging interpretations. His interpretation of Bill Waterson’s advice took some heat for being too one sided, but his take on Robert Frost’s Road Not Taken shows a pretty even hand. I like that he tries challenging material, he may miss sometimes, but even when I think he is missing he is still interesting.
Just a reminder that the best holiday of the year is coming soon, Free Comic Book Day is May 4th this year. FREE COMIC BOOKS. Life doesn’t get any better than that really. I have discovered many favorites at Free Comic Book including Owly, Atomic Robo, and Cowboy, but the big names are there too with free comics from Marvel, DC and the other big companies. All great comic books, all free. Why are you still reading this? You should packing up to camp in front of your friendly neighborhood comic store! Go GO!
Things Could Be Worse is a bit of an odd duck. He doesn’t have a schedule, and he is not promising more, but he keeps delivering new and interesting strips. I subscribed to his feed and think that everyone should keep up with this one.
